It’s time – to redesign!
It’s been over a month since I last posted, and the main reason behind this was the fact that I was working on a new design for this website. I really liked the idea of my previous Brighton themed skin, but as with most of my designs, I got bored of it after only a few months. I think it looked quite old as well, because of the colours used and the 780px width.
So I started to browse for some fresh inspiration about 6 weeks ago, and decided to put a new design together. My main aims were to introduce some brighter, bolder colours; to make it look modern; and to add some personal touches.
Whilst looking for inspriation, I stumbled upon a number of websites that used a dark background colour, with bright coloured sections. I really liked this look so I decided to incorporate it into my redesign. I also wanted to incorporate some newer trends including letterpress headings, big text, sketches/cartoons, background textures and large homepage headers. It sounds like a lot to achieve in a single design, but apart weeks of playing around with various ideas, I think I finally have something that I like and will hopefully not get bored of in the coming months!
Now that this is out of the way, I hope to more regularly post some articles in this section, as I have struggled so far to do so.

Nice design, contrast is superb. While reading the text it takes me off in the middle. I think it’s background pattern.
